The Killing Of Sister George: November 1990
By Frank Marcus
This unusual black comedy has a strong plot which centres around the lives of four women. The central characters, June and Alice have an uneasy relationship which is further disrupted by the arrival of Mercy Croft, June's superior at the B.B.C. where June is the star of a popular radio serial.
June turns to her best friend Madam Xenia, an eccentric clairvoyant, when uncertainty threatens her already delicately balanced way of life.
